September 11 Attacks (Nathan Wong)

The beast engulfs an innocent white dove

In its doom; indifferent with evil intentions.

The dove darts hither and thither

Dazed with terror, horried he cries,

Yet fateful steel claws tether him from freedom.

No imploring of mercy; he just falls with dignity

Pure white was never so dark till this moment

Though bitter is the air; the sun will come again

I am sure.

Discussion Question for tomorrow

Does prejudice have to be experienced in order to understand it? How can we learn from the past?
